Description: Think of Melonis barleeanum as the "Perfect Wheel." This one is a beautiful, symmetrical planispire—it looks the same from both sides. If you find a lot of these in one sample, it's a huge hint that the seafloor was once covered in "tasty" (degraded) organic mud!
